The main application of C9 petroleum resin

C9 petroleum resins specifically refer to resinous substances composed of "olefin or cycloalkene polymerized or copolymerized with aldehydes, aromatic hydrocarbons, terpenes, etc." containing nine carbon atoms.

 

Application

1、oil paint

The paint mainly USES C9 petroleum resin with high softening point. The addition of petroleum resin can increase the gloss of the paint, improve the adhesion, hardness, acid and alkali resistance of the paint film.

2、Tires and rubber

Tires and rubber mainly use C9 petroleum resin with low softening point. This kind of resin and natural rubber granule have good mutual solubility, and have no great influence on the vulcanization process of rubber. The addition of petroleum resin into the tire and rubber can enhance the adhesion, strengthen and soften the rubber.

 

3、Adhesives industry

C9 petroleum resin has good adhesion. The addition of petroleum resin into adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes can improve adhesion, acid, alkali and water resistance of adhesives, and effectively reduce production cost.

 

4Ink industry

Ink with petroleum resin, mainly high softening point petroleum resin. The oil resin can be added to ink color, fast dry, brightening effect, improve printing performance.

 

5、Resin has a certain degree of unsaturation, can be used in paper gelling agent, plastic modifier and so on.

 

Petroleum resin is a kind of thermoplastic resin produced by pretreatment, polymerization and distillation of C5 and C9 fractions produced by petroleum cracking.

 

Petroleum resins, named for their origins as petroleum derivatives, are characterized by low acid value, good miscibility, water resistance, ethanol resistance and chemical resistance, chemical stability to acids and bases, and good viscosity and thermal stability. Petroleum resins are generally not used alone, but as promoters, regulators, modifiers and other resins.
